This describes what Moonshots LIVE collects when you visit moonshots.com or apply to attend the Gathering, why we collect it, and how you can control it.
Information you give us directly — when you apply to attend, join a waitlist, request an invite, submit a partner or scholarship form, sign up for the Founding Circle, or otherwise fill out a form on this site, we collect what you enter: typically your name, email address, and organization, and depending on the form, details like which prize track you're associated with, your VIP/general/scholarship tier, or a referral source. If you complete a purchase, payment is handled entirely by Stripe on Stripe's own checkout pages — we never see or store your card number.
Information collected automatically — like most websites, we automatically log standard technical information when you visit: your browser type, device, approximate location (from IP address), pages viewed, and referring site. We also use the cookies and pixels described in Section 3 to understand traffic and measure whether our advertising is working.
We use the information above to:
This site runs a small number of third-party advertising pixels so we can measure ad performance and, where relevant, retarget people who've already shown interest in the Gathering:
These tags are provided by Meta, X, and LinkedIn respectively, and are subject to those companies' own privacy policies, not just ours. You can control this at the source:
We keep application and registration records for as long as needed to run the event and honor any related obligations (like donor or sponsor recognition), and generally no longer than a few years afterward for our own records. Marketing/email data is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. You can ask us to delete your information at any time — see Section 6.
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or ask what we have on file, by emailing support@moonshots.com. Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link.
If you're a California resident, the CCPA gives you the right to know what personal information we've collected, request its deletion, and opt out of its "sale" or "sharing" — we don't sell personal information, and the closest equivalent under the law is the advertising described in Section 3, which you can opt out of there. If you're in the UK or EU, GDPR gives you the rights above plus the right to data portability and to object to certain processing. Contact us at the email above to exercise any of these rights.
Moonshots LIVE is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold, including relying on providers like Stripe for anything payment-related so card details never pass through our own systems. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
Moonshots LIVE is based in the United States, and the service providers listed in Section 4 may process information outside your home country, including in the U.S. By using this site, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate.
This site links out to third parties — including futurevisionxprize.com, geminixprize.com, XPRIZE, our sponsors' sites, and our social media accounts — and embeds content like YouTube videos. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we aren't responsible for their practices.
We may update this policy as the site and event evolve. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page.
